Either he finds the material, or the material finds him.
Stephan Scheibe’s art is pure and direct. He draws his inspiration from materials that already have a history of their own: driftwood, salvaged wood, and deadwood meet concrete, metal, and colour.
He stages these elements in an uncompromising way, always combining the raw with the vulnerable.
Born in Mönchengladbach in 1970, Stephan Scheibe has lived and worked in Stuttgart since 1989.
